New to finding notes by ear?
Start with the seven natural notes: C, D, E, F, G, A, and B. All notes play in the same octave, so you’re learning pitch names rather than octave numbers. Replay a note, hum it back, and make your guess. The answer appears immediately.
The 12-note level adds sharps and flats. C♯ and D♭ are two names for the same pitch; either name on that button is the correct answer. Your best streak is kept separately for each level. A wrong answer resets your current streak, and the first correct guess and streak milestones bring a little confetti.
Naming an isolated note is a pitch-memory exercise. It’s okay to use a guitar as a reference while you learn; this isn’t a test of how musical you are. For songwriting practice, head back to the chord generator.
